The Arena Group, owner of many popular magazines including Sports Illustrated, Parade and Men’s Journal, announced the use of artificial intelligence in the preparation of content for their publications. Little-known companies Jasper and Nota are engaged in software development. The new AI will work in conjunction with human journalists and, according to representatives of the publication, is not intended to replace their work.
As Ross Levinson, CEO of The Arena Group, explained, they intend to use artificial intelligence technologies to expand the capabilities of their platform. AI tools will help in the processing of information, which will optimize the processes of preparing new materials. And, according to the company’s idea, it will open up new ways to attract customers.
In a pilot project, The Arena Group editors have already used AI technology to analyze the news agenda, quickly select the most relevant topics and compile related materials from the archives. Automation of information processing allows you to reduce the burden on people and speed up the creation of new publications. However, the last word still remains with the man – the machine is not yet able to completely replace the work of a journalist and editor.
