tether

On Friday, August 4, the USDT stablecoin lost its peg to the dollar, according to  CoinMarketCap . In the pools of the Curve Finance and Uniswap platforms, there is serious selling pressure on the asset.

At the time of writing, USDT is trading at $0.999. At the moment, it fell to the level of $0.998, according to CoinMarketCap.

At the time of writing, the USDC/USDT Uniswap pool   is showing an imbalance towards Tether stablecoin:

The situation is similar in the 3pool pool on  Curve Finance . At the time of writing, the share of USDT in it is 59.6%:

USDT has already lost its peg to the dollar in 2023. This happened in mid-June, when there was also a skew in the balance of pools. At that time, Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino said that this situation arose on the market due to speculators.

The technical director of the company has already managed to comment on the current turbulence, noting the strange behavior in the segment of a certain “newcomer”.
