The French company Segula Technologies has installed ten hybrid solar-wind generators on the roof of a commercial building in the municipality of Angers-en-Santerre, which will supply and distribute energy to the structure all year round. One such installation includes a 1,500-watt wind generator and two 800-watt solar modules, as well as individual batteries and a distribution system, making it smart.

The hybrid generators were designed and manufactured by Wind my Roof. According to calculations, each installation will be capable of generating up to 2000 kWh of energy from wind and up to 800 kWh of energy from the sun in one year of operation. On the roof, one hybrid generator occupies an area of 4 m2 . Its dimensions are 2.1 × 1.6 × 2 m.
The generators are reliable and can withstand wind speeds of up to 50 m/s. At the same time, they supposedly work silently, which still needs to be verified. After all, noise from wind generators is one of the reasons for banning their operation in residential areas. By the way, they are not designed for extreme cold and can withstand temperature drops only down to -15 °C.
According to Wind my Roof, before working in Angers-en-Santerre, it installed eight installations on the roof of a building in Rouen (Normandy). Later in France, she will implement four more projects, which will happen before the end of this year. The company is also working on installing “wind boxes” in Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany.
