The largest wind turbine in the world will generate 45 kWh of energy per blade revolution

China has launched a project to build the world’s largest wind turbine, the dimensions of which are amazing. The shipbuilding company CSSC will be engaged in its implementation. It has its own interest – it is more profitable to install fewer large windmills, not only from an economic point of view, but also to reduce the problems of navigation in the coastal zone. At the same time, savings on materials and labor-intensive work on the seabed can amount to hundreds of millions of yuan.

The interest of engineers in increasing the size of turbine blades is not accidental. The fact is that the longer the blades, the more energy can be obtained in one revolution of the rotor. The blade length of the new Chinese turbine will be 260 meters. According to calculations, one such generator, rotated by the ocean wind, will generate up to 74 million kWh of energy during the year.

The turbine will be able to provide electricity to at least 40,000 households. The company has already begun assembly: at the moment, the SuperBlade + wing, giant generator, gearbox and frame are ready. Also, the assembly of the bearing and hub came to the finish line.
