Google invested $300 million in AI that managed to pass the law exam

Artificial intelligence

Google has made the decision to acquire a 10% stake in Anthropic to become its financial and technical backer. Their interest lies in gaining control of an artificial intelligence technology called “Claude”, who recently managed to pass an economics and law exam at George Mason University. Thus, Google officially enters the race to create a commercial version of artificial intelligence.

In fact, for Google, the measure is partly forced – the search giant in the development of AI is catching up, with OpenAI, supported by Microsoft, already several laps ahead . This is not surprising, since Microsoft has invested $ 10 billion in the startup. More importantly, thanks to the almost free access of users to it, the ChatGPT AI learns and grows very quickly in terms of its capabilities.

According to available data, Microsoft wants to combine ChatGPT and the Bing search service in the near future in order to increase its efficiency hundreds of times. This is already a direct blow to Google’s monopoly, but the company is already at risk of missing out on its chances to carve out a niche in the AI segment. Therefore, they will certainly make every effort there, which will lead to fierce competition between IT giants. This should benefit the entire AI industry.
